Design and Access Statement, National Football Centre
CLG has published a letter to Chief Planning Officers, explaining all of the Killian Pretty Review-related proposed changes to the planning process which will come into use/ force on 6 April, including revised application validation procedures, removing the need for design and access statements (DAS) with some applications and simplifying their scope more generally, and increasing permitted development (PD) rights for non-residential uses. In particular, the letter advises that a new Development Management Policy Annex: Information requirements and validation for planning applications and Guidance on Information Requirements and Validation have been published.
Welcoming both of these publications, NLP Director Gareth Morgan commented, "The changes are a positive step forward in making the planning system more proportionate in its requirements for information from applicants. When brought into use next month alongside legislative changes that include new commercial and other non-residential PD rights, we should soon begin to see real improvements with simpler and fewer planning applications being necessary, and decisions then being given sooner-the reduced time and costs for all involved should also be of wider benefit, to the economy as a whole as it comes out of recession."
