NLP has secured planning permission on behalf of Commercial Estates Group for a new hand car wash on land at Abbey Road in Kirkstall, Leeds.
The car wash is to be located on the site of a former petrol filling station which has been vacant for over 5 years. NLP worked closely with co-consultants to overcome Council concerns about site management and the traffic implications, resulting in permission being granted for a 5 year period until the long term prospects for the site are agreed.
NLP Associate Director Michael Hepburn commented "In the current economic climate securing the temporary re-use of vacant sites can prove extremely important to ensure an income for clients and improvements to local amenity . We are pleased to have helped CEG with this short-term solution and look forward to moving forward the wider regeneration of the surrounding area through work on the Kirkstall Forge Masterplan"
