The LEA for Tower Hamlets will get to grips with the area’s economic and regeneration challenges, which sit on the doorstep of one of the most vibrant economic locations in the world. The NLP team will work with the council and local stakeholders to establish an economic narrative for the borough as it emerges from recession; look at how policy, investment and organisations work together; and define policy recommendations. Providing a robust evidence base to support the borough strategic priorities for the next 20 years, the LEA will also inform the council’s future economic development strategy and influence enterprise and employment initiatives. It will include a worklessness assessment which will look at barriers to employment in a borough that has seen substantial job growth over past two decades. NLP will work alongside the MacKinnon Partnership in carrying out the LEA.
