NLP is delighted to have assisted Lidl UK GmbH in securing planning permission for two new foodstores on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
Permission has been granted on appeal for a store on the edge of Pickering Town Centre, following a Public Inquiry, while across the moors in Malton, planning permission was granted by Ryedale Council’s Planning Committee for a new Lidl foodstore on a prominent former car showroom site.
NLP Director, Jonathan Wallace, commented “Both of these stores will significantly enhance local choice and competition in the towns in which they will be located, and both should increase local expenditure retention. It was particularly pleasing that the Inspector at the Pickering Inquiry acknowledged and gave weight to these benefits in approving the Lidl scheme”
These permissions follow on from the recent success in Guisborough, where NLP assisted Lidl in obtaining planning permission for a further new store.
