NLP has successfully defended, at appeal, the decision of Ceredigion Council to refuse planning permission for the relaxation in the range of goods that could be sold from an existing out-of-centre retail warehouse unit at Parc-y-Llyn, Aberystwyth.
NLP argued that regardless of any potential quantitative capacity, the proposed increase in the range of goods that could be sold out-of-centre would undermine the delivery of the wider town centre regeneration scheme within the context of Aberystwyth’s Strategic Regeneration Area designation.
NLP Associate Director, Gillian Jones commented: “We are pleased that the Inspector has prioritised the delivery of a new town centre development over the short term gain of filling a vacant out-of-centre unit. Even in the fallout of the economic recession the town centres first approach remains strong in Wales”.
