On behalf of The Co-operative Group, NLP has successfully obtained outline planning permission for the redevelopment of a former shirt and pyjama factory in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, to provide up to 36 new family houses. Following extensive consultation with the local community and Council Officers, Members of the Council’s Planning & Development Committee unanimously supported the proposal, which will regenerate a vacant industrial site.
This approval follows on from NLP obtaining the necessary planning permission required in order to allow The Co-operative Group to relocate to modern business premises elsewhere in Tyne & Wear.
NLP Associate Director Ian Kettlewell commented ‘We are delighted to have once again secured an important planning permission for The Co-operative Group. This development will not only provide much needed family housing in the Pelaw area but will also bring a prominent vacant site back in to productive use.’
